 Fluorite powder (also called fluorspar) is a halide mineral composed of calcium fluoride, CaF₂. It is an isometric mineral with a cubic habit, though octahedral and more complex isometric forms are not uncommon. Crystal twinning is common and adds complexity to the observed crystal habits.Fluorite is a colorful mineral, both in visible and ultraviolet light, and the stone has ornamental and lapidary uses. Industrially, fluorite is used as a flux for smelting, and in the production of certain glasses and enamels. The purest grades of fluorite are a source of fluoride for hydrofluoric acid manufacture, which is the intermediate source of most fluorine-containing fine chemicals. Optically clear transparent fluorite lenses have low dispersion, so lenses made from it exhibit less chromatic aberration, making them valuable in microscopes and telescopes. Fluorite optics are also usable in the far-ultraviolet range where conventional glasses are too absorbent for use.

Chemical Properties

Smelting ore with acid grade fluorspar general requirement(content than 65%m and the main impurities silica also have certain, at the request of sulfur and phosphorus have strict restriction. Sulful and phosphorus content may not be higher than the 0.3% and 0.08% respectively. 

Product usage 

Fluorite powder has a wide variety of uses .it is mainly used in metallurgy industry and chemical industry. In metallurgy industry, it is mainly used for flux and in chemical industry; fluorspar is used for making fluohydric acid and its ramification. Besides it is also used in glass, ceramic and cements industries.
