The tripods are available with either wooden or aluminum legs. The wooden types have excellent vibration damping characteristics. The aluminum tripods are light weight and completely resistant to conditions of high humidity.
The most important criterion for a good tripod is its stability, quite explicitly, the torsional rigidity. With that, a very valuable, but not the only, argument for the tripod from Commander has been named. Other substantial benefits are the height stability under load and the minimal horizontal drift.
